Cairns Conference Videography: Behind the Scenes at IPA Member Summit 2026
At the IPA Studio, the first step was simple: pick a prompt. Attendees could share a health tip, talk about a customer experience or reflect on the community they serve. Then they stepped in front of the green screen and told their story.
The studio was part of Independent Pharmacies Australia (IPA) Member Summit 2026, held from 15–18 September at the Cairns Convention Centre. More than 600 people attended the event. Shamrock Space Studio recorded over 60 interviews and edited vertical videos during breaks in filming for presentation at the gala dinner.
We took these behind-the-scenes photos on a phone as the work unfolded. Here is what was happening behind the camera.

The interview area sat within the activity of the summit. People could see the prompt display, choose a question and come over to be filmed.
We had a camera facing the green screen, two lights on the set and a RØDE boom microphone positioned overhead. Once someone was in place, we checked the frame and sound, recorded their answer and got ready for the next participant.
The prompts gave people a place to start, but the answers were personal. The setup stayed familiar while each participant brought something different to it.

Shortly before filming, the client asked us to capture two microphone sources. They wanted different sound options for the ways they planned to use the footage.
We recorded the overhead boom and a lavalier microphone separately through a Zoom F8n Pro field recorder. We monitored both sources during filming and delivered both sets of audio files to the client, giving them a choice when working with the interviews later.

The photo below shows the view from behind our camera operator during one of the interviews.

Editing in the gaps
There was another job running alongside the interviews: vertical videos needed to be ready for the gala dinner.
We used breaks in filming to edit footage already captured. Then, when the next participant arrived, it was back to the camera. That rhythm continued while the summit carried on around the IPA Studio.
A few moments from the day
These are phone photos and clips taken when there was a moment to reach for a phone: the prompt board before an interview, a view over the operator’s shoulder and a pause beside the production slate. They show the parts of conference videography that usually sit outside the finished frame.
